Competency Requirements for Property Professionals: an Australian Perspective

This research will identify the important competencies of property professionals

Dr Joanna Poon of the School of Management and Marketing at Deakin University, is developing a project that aims to survey property professionals on their views of the competency requirements for property professionals in Australia.

The property professionals identified in this study are members of Australian Property Institute (API). The competences identified in this research are classified in the following categories: knowledge, skills and attributes.

This research will identify the important competencies of property professionals. Therefore, property professionals will be able to use the research findings as guidance for their professional development plan. It will also provide benefits to the broader community as the quality of services for the property professionals can be enhanced through implementing the findings of this research.
