People are still talking about the highly successful 2013 Queensland Property Conference, held on the Gold Coast this earlier this month.
This year’s diverse yet highly relevant program featured an exceptional line up of presenters who spoke on a range of current and informative topics, including economics, stigmatised properties, trends and reforms, property as an investment, safe property inspections and more.
At the opening of the conference on 1 November, Tony Gorman, API National President, and Tim Rabbitt, API Queensland President, were pleased to present API Life Fellowship to a highly regarded Queensland member, John Trickett. John represents the 15th member inducted into the API’s highest Membership level in Queensland which acknowledges his significant contribution to the Institute and the property profession.
Delegates were treated to presentations by some of Australia’s leading personalities including CommSec’s Chief Economist, Craig James, who provided the annual Economic Update and Noel Whittaker am whose expertise in Financial Planning was highly welcomed by those in attendance.
A highlight of the conference was Saturday’s motivational address which was this year presented by Corporal Ben Roberts-Smith VC MG. As Australia’s most decorated soldier, Ben took delegates on a journey through his experiences on the frontline and along the way translated leadership tactics from the battlefield to those essential for success in the corporate environment. Cpl Roberts-Smith is a highly engaging speaker who captivated the audience.
The API Queensland Division was proud to use this year’s conference as a platform to support Mates4Mates; an incredible charity that works to provide support to our wounded, injured or ill, current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force personnel and their families. The Queensland Property Conference provided Mates4Mates with increased exposure of their valuable work whilst raising over $1300 through the sales of raffle tickets.
The Australian Property Institute (API) has received excellent feedback from both attendees and presenters, with many noting that it was the best Queensland Property Conference ever.
The API Queensland Division thanks the attendees, presenters and partners for their support of this event. The Division also extends a special thanks to the Conference Organising Committee for volunteering their time to put together a diverse and topical program.
The API looks forward to again welcoming delegates to the 2014 Queensland Property Conference when it returns to the Gold Coast on Friday 31 October and Saturday 1 November 2014 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.
