The IVSC has in recent times withdrawn all of its Guidance Notes and issued Technical Information Papers (TIPs) in lieu. The API/PINZ are currently reviewing all of the local Standards/Guidance Notes with the view of re-issuing as local TIPs. The above Exposure Drafts reflect a revision of the following existing Guidance Notes:

- ANZVGN 12: Market Value of Property, Plant & Equipment as Part of a Going Concern Business

- This Guidance Note remains in place until finalisation of the Exposure Draft TIP.

- ANZVGN 3: Valuations for Mortgage and Loan Security Purposes (Forced Sale)

- This Guidance Note is withdrawn from the date of this advice, noting that Professional Practice encompasses IVS 2013 (effective from 1 January 2014). Particular IVSC reference to forced sale is made within IVS 2013 under:

  • IVS Framework
  • IVS 220 Plant and Equipment
  • IVS 300 Valuations for Financial Reporting
  • IVS 310 Valuations of Real Property for Secured Lending
  • IVSonline Frequently Asked Questions

- ANZVGN 13: Valuations for Insurance Purposes

The Property Advisors TIP is new and has been drafted to provide guidance on what constitutes “Property Advice”, and to review the role and methodology used by Property Advisors and the regulatory framework in which property advice can be provided by members.
