New API National Operations Manager

Ken Nichols brings to the role considerable skills in marketing and branding, client development, stakeholder management, and experience in structural change

Ken Nichols has been appointed as Australian Property Institute (API) National Operations Manager.

Mr Nichols is based in Canberra and has been engaged on an interim basis for a period of about six months while the API undertakes a governance and structural Review.

API President Robert Hecek said the API National Council, with assistance from consultants, had followed a rigorous process in undertaking the appointment.

Mr Nichols replaces Clyde Eastaugh, who acted as interim National Director for several months.

“We welcome Ken on board and say thanks to Clyde Eastaugh, who has been a valuable resource over the past eight months,” Mr Hecek said.

Mr Nichols has had an impressive career in the media industry, mainly with Rural Press and Fairfax.

He was general manager, publisher and operations director of The Canberra Times for more than seven years until February this year, and was also a divisional CEO for two years during this period, with additional responsibility for 10 daily, weekly and magazine publications.

In addition to his extensive experience in general management, Mr Nichols also brings considerable skills in marketing and branding, client development, stakeholder management, and experience in structural change.
