Introducing the new API Leadership Team

As part of the API’s restructure, a National Leadership Team has been appointed

Each member of the new API National Leadership Team has responsibility for a portfolio within the restructured API.

Local service provision is an important part of the API’s service delivery, and to ensure that continues, each API office has a Member Services Manager who will serve as a local contact point. Details of the Member Services Managers can be found on the API website.

The API's National Leadership Team comprises:

MIKE ZISSLER FAIM, MAICD
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Mike joined the API as Chief Executive Officer in 2014, following his time as CEO of Lifeline Canberra. Previous roles include Commander at Northern Territory Emergency Response Operations Centre, and CEO at ACT Department of Territory & Municipal Services. He is an active Director on several Boards and has an impressive track record in driving strategic projects and leading cultural change.


NICK LANGLEY CPA, GAICD
CHIEF OPERATIONS OFFICER

Nick is a practicing CPA with extensive experience in corporate and financial management, HR, IT, plus operations and project management accountabilities. Prior to joining the API, he was engaged as the Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary with the Plant Biosecurity Cooperative Research Centre. He has held a number of Board positions, including Chair for Pegasus Riding for the Disabled in Canberra.


ANDREW BELL
NATIONAL MANAGER – COMMUNICATIONS

Andrew has 20 years of experience across the API’s operations at a state level, working with the Queensland Division. His previous roles have covered many facets of the API’s operations including communications, events, membership, finance and Board management. He was Queensland Executive Officer from 2008-2015 when he was promoted to National Manager — Communications, and Queensland Member Services Manager.


EDDIE BLASS
NATIONAL MANAGER – EDUCATION

Eddie has just joined the API from Laureate Universities where she spent the last 18 months focusing on the development of online education models. Eddie has also worked for Swinburne University of Technology, Hertfordshire University and Ashridge Management College. Her research is very future-focused, looking at where an industry is going next and what needs to change to allow them to get there.


AMY GUY GAICD
NATIONAL MANAGER – MEMBERSHIP SERVICES & ADVOCACY

Amy joined the API in 2005 and has worked across a range of roles, including professional development, professional standards, public relations, communications, membership, events and Board management. She was promoted to Victorian Executive Officer in 2008 before moving into her national role managing Membership Services and Advocacy in mid-2015. Amy is also the API’s Victorian Member Services Manager.


LARISS OANA
NATIONAL MANAGER – RISK, LEGAL AND COMPLIANCE (APIV LIMITED)

Lariss joined the API in 2014 as National Professional Indemnity & Compliance Manager. She has extensive experience in commercial litigation and dispute resolution, as well as compliance, operational risk management and corporate governance. Prior to joining the API, she worked in a private legal practice and served as Legal Counsel and Risk Partner at one of the ‘big four’ banks.


KEVIN THOMPSON AAPI
NATIONAL MANAGER – PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS

Kevin was first appointed the API’s Professional Standards Manager in January 2015. He is an Associate Member of the API, first joining in 1979, as well as a highly regarded academic with 20 years’ teaching experience. He has had two secondments as Education Manager with the API NSW, and as a lecturer for the UTS.
